Mother's Day 2009

I had a great second Mother's Day. Brian got up with the kids so I could sleep in, but I wanted to get up and open my gifts (I got up in the middle of the night with Austin and saw this on the counter)!

Brian and the boys got me pink Nike Shocks, bath and body works stuff, and an outfit! Oh and of course balloons and great cards! Thank you babe and my little loves!

We then headed outside to work in the yard to get it looking pretty for this weekend. I played with the boys and Brian mowed the grass (with Logan on his shoulders, laid new mulch, planted more flowers and did some weeding. He is a hard worker even outside!

We have a double jogger so I put Austin in it and Logan hopped right in, for the first time ever. He never wants to be in the jogger, I guess all the yard work was making him tired, so he kicked back in the stroller while I blew bubbles (for 30 mins)!

We changed our clothes and headed to the lake with my family. It was great to be out on the boat. Oh, before going to the boat we stopped at the boat store and bought two little life jackets (an infant one and a toddler one). The boys were not and will not be going out on the lake without a life jacket on!

We ate lunch out on the lake, Logan was exhausted and ended up falling asleep!
The weather was getting bad, so we got off the water. We changed our clothes and headed over to my parent's house. We exchanged gifts. My mom and dad gave me new Bobbie Brown makeup - YAHOO! My brothers and sis-in-law gave me a Willow Tree figure - a mom holding her two boys (I LOVE it)! We gave my mom a candle, a book about moms, and the best thing a wall frame that says "there are few things more delightful than grandchildren fighting over your lap"! It is from a favorite store of hers, Grassroots Girls - she loved it!

We played board games and ordered in Chinese food. It was so much fun! Then around 9 we packed up and headed home. The boys were exhausted and went right to bed. Brian and I watched some TV and then went to bed as well. Thank you Brian, Logan, Austin, and my family for making mother's day such a special day!

Becoming a Mom

We found out we were expecting a baby in mid September 2006. From the instant that the EPT test showed the "pregnant" sign, I felt that I was given the greatest gift, the gift of being a mom. I really had no idea how much I could love someone until Logan was born May 15, 2007. I mean I really love my husband, I would give my life for him, but to a love a child - its unconditional. This is my second Mother's Day. Last Mother's Day, I had one baby and was expecting another. There is a lot of things people don't tell you when you are expecting a baby. However the one thing that everyone will tell you is how much your life will change and how quickly time goes. Our life has changed. We have more love and laughter in our lives. Yes we are tired, but I don't want my old life. I love this life and time is going by too quickly. The greatest gift I will receive tomorrow will be the kisses and hugs and I Love Yous from Logan and the sweet giggles and squeals of delight from Austin. Mom, thank you for the life you gave me. It is fun to celebrate each other on Mother's day. I celebrate you because you are my mom and now that I am a mom I know you are celebrating your children for making you a mom! Thank you Brian for our babies! Having children with you was the best thing I have ever done! Thank you God for my babies. Thank you Logan and Austin for choosing me to be your mommy.

Not Much Going On

Just thought I would post a current post, but realized that today was not to
G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S!
Some highlights
1. Austin slept from 8-12 and then 12-7! I am so happy he is sleeping better and on a schedule!
2. Logan woke up whiny, tired, and clingy and stayed that way all day! I think he is getting sick, I actually hear him coughing in his sleep - great!
3. Brian was home today so he took Logan and did a little mommy's day shopping - hmm I wonder what they got me?! A few ideas I have been throwing out there: new Vera Bradley diaper bag, wedge brown sandals, running shoes (pink Nike shocks),
and for the biggy - furniture for our deck! I wanted to go strawberry picking on Mother's day, turns out the strawberry farmers take Sunday's off and are closed:( Not sure what we will do, any way I digress back to our day...
4. I went with Austin and headed to Hallmark to get cards and a few gifts for the special moms and grandmas in our life! If I remember I will share after Mother's day what I got for them.
5. We met Brian and Logan at the pub for an early dinner. I had a kids cheeseburger and fries - not the healthiest, but I thought "at least it's not the bigger portion!" Logan didn't eat his food he walked around like he owned the place - maybe one day he will. Austin was fussy and had a bottle, and Brian had grouper. I had a beer also - I could have had more but we were heading to the party store to get some things for Logan's party.
5. I have already ordered Barney Mylar balloons that I am waiting to arrive (will fill with helium the day of the party) but Brian wanted balloons everywhere, so we ordered 20 purple and 20 green latex balloons! $23.00 in balloons - Logan loves balloons, I hope he really loves these balloons. We also picked up some green and purple table ware. Brian is hating it - he thinks it is very gay to have a Barney party for his son. However Logan LOVES Barney more than anything. SO Brian loudly announces at the store that next year he is planning Logan's party and it is going to be manly - ha!
6. I parted ways from my boys they went home and I headed to the tanning bed and grocery store. I can get through the grocery store so quickly when I am alone!
7. Came home to Logan sleeping and Austin laughing! Logan woke up minutes after I walked in the door, screaming. He was wayyyy too tired but was hungry so he had a pbj and some chips and got ready for bed.
8. I fed and bathed Austin while Brian put Logan back to bed.
9. Here I sit next to my sweet husband typing this. I need to go to bed - retraining my body to sleep is hard!

Redbox

So I have found a cheap addition to staying-in-date nights - Redbox Movie Rental! I love the redbox. Let me tell you about it - You can go to redbox.com and locate a redbox in your area (I think there are like 12,000). Once you locate a redbox you can either reserve a movie to be picked up or head over to the redbox and look through the titles including all the NEW release movies! The best part it is only $1.00- yep $1.00 for a movie! Not blockbusters 5.99 or on-demands $4.99 movies, one dollar oh actually $1.06 with tax:) SO you get the movie and you can keep it until the following day at 9pm when you need to return it or be charged another day for a dollar. Unlike Blockbuster where you must return the movie where you rented from, you can return the movie to any redbox! I LOVE IT!!!

First Class

I took Logan and Austin to Meadville, PA to visit family last weekend accompanied by my two wonderful, patient parents. We left Thursday and came home Monday. There is more pictures and stories to come about last weekend but I wanted to show the boys and I flying first class - in my opinion the only way to fly with the babies. They were really good. People that have kids will get this - the seats are bigger (we have lots of stuff and I needed room to nurse Austin) and more attention is paid up in first class (we had drinks and snacks before take off). People without kids have commented that they would be mad if they paid for a ticket and children were in first class screaming (that is so a comment from someone without kids)! My boys behaved really well and we didn't disturb the childless, stuffy first class fliers!
Oh and by the time we would have paid for our bags to sit in coach it was equal to the upgrade to first class where you don't pay to check your bags!

WHY

Can someone out there tell me why when I publish a post like the last one where I compared the boys, why does the captions I put above photos not look right when I hit publish post? HELP!

6 Month Comparison

It has been a while since I have compared the boys. Here they are doing the exact same things at 6 months!
Jumping in the bouncer
Logan

Austin

Sitting in daddy's recliner
Logan

Austin

One difference well two - Logan has huge, bright BLUE eyes, Austin's are hazel with tints of blue. Another difference is Austin is ALWAYS smiling. Getting Logan to smile was much harder than it is to get Austin to smile. Just talking makes Austin smile, Logan needed and still needs more entertainment from the photographer!

Swimming Lessons

Logan began swimming lessons at Dynamo Swim Center last week. We go on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon for a 1/2 hour for 4 weeks. According to his teacher - he is a natural and he LOVES it. After the first lesson he couldn't stop talking about the pool and the water. He was so excited, kicking splashing, learning to float, and blow bubbles. I am in the water with him - it is fun to do together. We sing songs and get balls, float with turtles on our bellies, blow bubbles, scale the wall, and have a great time! Daddy came to lessons on Thursday and took pictures. Oh and the the other children in the class that signed up didn't show up, so it is our own lesson!

I didn't have time to edit these so it may be difficult to see us in the water.

I have FINALLY caught up and posted several new posts. You will need to scroll down past the recent post of (I Lost That Blogging Feeling). Enjoy! I am going to get bette about sorting pictures and posting, it is a work in progress.
