Where Are the Harris'?

We are busy growing, changing, celebrating, playing, and enjoying life! Here are some highlights since I have been MIA!
Father's Day 2009 - What a wonderful day to celebrate the wonderful men in my life. My husband ROCKS as a daddy. His boys think he hung the moon and I think he is kinda great too! The three of us are sooo lucky to have him. Brian works so hard to ensure that we are well taken care of. Happy Daddy's Day to my babies' daddy! XOXOXO Happy Father's Day to my dad of course as well as to Brian's dad. We are so lucky to live so close to our families that we are able to spend the day with everyone!
Brian slept in on father's day morning until 9am! Wow BK (before kids) sleeping in was like until 2pm! Anyway we woke him up with his presents!

Then we got dressed and headed to Brian's dad for a steak lunch - I made Brian's favorite dip as well as the corn. It was yummy. We did presents and visited for a bit before getting in the car and going to spend the rest of the day with my dad. There we had a steak dinner. Again it was yummy and we definitely got our protein grams in that day! More gifts, awesome dessert, and some board games was the way we finished the evening. A great day to celebrate and honor some WONDERFUL men!
The boys have been enjoying going to the pool and lounging in their own backyard pool - with popsciles of course (or as Logan calls them ipops). Look at Austin climbing out. He is turning into a wild man keeping up with his big brother. I think Logan could live off of Popsicles (my favorite and his too are the Mighty Miget Slow Melts - No dripping, SERIOUSLY!)

Something else Logan really loves is Peanutbutter and Jelly sandwiches. He would eat one at every meal if he could. This one paticular morning I gave him ceral with milk, but he insisted on having a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich. He calls them peanubutter and hearing a 2 year-old scream that word 20 times in a row, well, I didn't care that it was only 8am - peanutbutter and jelly it was!

Logan loves to point out what things are while we are reading books (in education terms this is called a picture walk - looking and talking about the pictures, but to him I am mommy so we call this pointing and naming pictures). So I found these great window clings at the dollar store and we have lots of fun (and learning) talking about the animals, the sounds the animals make, the color of the animals, etc - great one dollar purchase!

We celebrated Grandpa Harris'(brian's dad) birthday last week. What fun it was to take two sleepy babies to eat Mexican where they must have went south of the boarder to get the food because the waiting seemed to never end! After eating so quickly that we all left there with indegestion (except for Logan who inbetween throwing objects and stating continuosly that he wanted to leave munched on chips and cheese dip and cheese quesidilla and Austin ate two jars of baby food during the wait to Mexico for our food). Ahh fun times eating out with babies. After dinner we headed back to the Harris house and had YUMO Carvel cake and opened gifts. Happy Birthday Paca (that is what Logan calls Grandpa and he calls Grandma Maca - very cute even when he is screaming "I want paca I want maca I want mimi I want papa" over and over whenever I do something that he doesn't like or want to do.

This week has been busy as I prepare for Brian's 30th birthday this weekend. I will take lots of pictures and be sure to post them quickly.
Oh and we officially have another mover in our house! Austin mastered crawling this week and he is E.V.E.R.Y.W.H.E.R.E, eating A.N.Y.T.H.I.N.G AND E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G he finds on the floor. It doesn't matter that I vacuum daily, his older brother leaves a taril of crumbs from snacks, dog sheds in this 1,000 degree heat, and just the daily tracking across the carpet has led me to do what only a girl that is a cleanfreak by hereditary nature would do - I bought a Dyson. It's a vacuum cleaner that is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

So that is what we have been up to. July is here, Brian turns 30, I will be working on my tan, saving money, playing with my kids, enjoying ALONE time with my husband, and losing the last 4 lbs from having two kids (I lost 6 inches in 4 weeks during the month of June)! As for the kids, Austin will turn 9 months, 3 months away from turning 1 and I am sure he will master standing up, Logan will continue to grow, learn how to do new things and learn new things to say (oh I forgot to mention that he dropped something on the ground recently and LOUDLY said "oh crap!" On one hand at least it wasn't "oh shit" but on the other hand he heard that from me - Mother of the Year!"

8 Months

Happy 8 months to my sweet, sweet, baby boy. Where did 8 months go?! In four months we will be throwing a 1st birthday bash for this toothless wonder. In love is an understatement for what I feel for Austin. I could literally kiss his roly-poly thighs all day long. Hearing him say "mama" melts my heart. He is almost crawling, lots of rocking and scooting. He is the best scheduled baby ever. Austin wakes up at 7:30 for breakfast, then playtime before getting dressed for the day and then more playtime. He naps at 10 until 11:30. Lunch, playtime and again another nap at 2 until 4. He eats lots in between and goes to bed at 8. I swear this happens each day. He sleeps in his own crib with his paci and blankie. When I go to get him up he is peeking out of his crib and gets sooo excited! Oh how I love him. He is the type of baby, that makes it easy to have another. He adores his big brother Logan (whom I also adore:) Austin loves his dada also and puts his arms up for Brian to pick him up. Happy 8th month little bit, we LOVE you!

1,000

I just so happened to scroll down my page to check out my friend counter and to my pleasant surprise, my blog has had 1,000 visitors since I put in on my blog in March (I think I need to look it up)! I love it! Maybe a year from now it will be 10,000 - we'll see!

Mama Needs a Vacay!

Austin said Mama yesterday at dinner for the first time! I had to put it in my blog so one of these days when I sit down to transfer all the milestones to his baby book I will remember when it was! It was so sweet, I was feeding him and he just started saying "amamamama." Then tonight I was in the kitchen and Brian had the kids in the living room and I was saying mama is coming and Brian said he was looking for me because he could here my voice! I just love that baby!

Austin 71/2 months

Logan 24&1/2 months

I also love my older baby who is seriously testing me every minute of the day.
We all woke up on the wrong side of the bed, after serious meltdowns by all three of us (yep even I had a meltdown) it was back to bed until almost 11 for all of us! We woke up much happier the second time around. However my patients were very thin today for some reason. I really need some quality mommy alone time I think. I hate to say that out loud or write it out loud, but I am waaaaay over due for a vacation! Maybe I can talk Brian into a long weekend somewhere HOT without the babies. Cheapcarribean.com has GREAT deals, check it out if you are looking for a little get away! So tomorrow is another day, another day to take care of my babies with a lot more FUN and a lot less tears!

Clean Up Song

To get Logan to clean up we HAVE to sing the Clean Up song. He sings along and if you son't sing it he says "pick up pick up" until you start the melody! Here are the words to the song (thanks Barney the dinosaur for reteaching me catchy songs to get my toddler to do things)!
Clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere, clean up, everybody do your share...
We sing it over and over until all of our toys are put away!

Misspellings

In my previous posts (the slide shows) I spelled several words incorrectly. Yes I have a degree, yes I taught six year old children to spell, but YES I was a VERY tired mommy when I did those posts (at midnight). I know dessert (the yummy foods) has two s's. So we had a dessert table not, a desert table (the kind with sand)! I also left out letters in a few words. This post is to make up for my misspellings. I am going to let it go (whoa big for me) and not go back and redo the slide shows! I am not perfect, although I spend too much time trying to be or at least seem like I am - more on that later.

Beginning of June

We started June BUSY! We have been to a baby shower, Malachi's 7th birthday party, Brian went to Vegas and played in the World Series of Poker (something he wanted to do before turning 30 in July), celebrated Amy's birthday, Bailey's birthday, went shopping, cleaned, played, took walks, played in the sprinkler, went to the pool, ate almost all meals outside on the picnic table, photo shoot, and more! Tomorrow, Friday, we are having breakfast with a friend, a playdate with other friends, and dinner with Stacey and her baby at the pub! Then on Saturday a quick visit with the Mottlau family and then we are driving to Peachtree City to celebrate Tony's 30th birthday! So excited to see friends we haven't see in FOREVER! Next week I will do better with posting more. I LOVE summertime!

Slide Show # 2 From the 2nd Bday Party!

I didn't add captions to these slides, a lot of them are repeats from the previous slide show. These were pics from my parent's camera.

Finally - Logan's 2nd Birthday

Logan turned 2 on May 15th. We spent the day as a family doing all the things Logan loves - which means we were outside all day! We took him to Suwanee Town Center to go through the fountain and then had dinner with my family at Ippilitos and of course cupcakes! Logan opened a few gifts from my parents and a few from Brian and I, we wanted to save the others for his birthday party.
Saturday, Aunt JuJu and Mimi came over to help me decorate and set up the house for the party. We also finished the kids goodie bags and the adult goodie bags. Yes I went all out and LOVED doing it all! Sunday was the party. It was crazy 10 kids, 40adults, tons of food, deserts, balloons, and gifts! Logan ran from one thing to the next he had a great time. He fell asleep at 5pm from exhaustion. It was a party to remember. Thank you Mom for all you did! You are my party planner assistant for sure!
Here is a slide show, not all the pictures and it is backwards, I just wanted to get this post done and move on!

Quick Update

Logan's bday and his party was AWESOME! I have a ton of pictures I am going through and will post about his party later this week or this weekend. I have been busy this week packing up my classroom. Finally closure - when I left in October to have Austin I didn't know my teaching career would come to a close for the time being. It is weird to be in my classroom where someone else has been teaching and using my things. Trying to decide what to keep, to give away, to throw away is very time consuming and a little emotional. I LOVE teaching and this time away and going back to pack things up really confirms it. However I feel guilty for missing something that I was really good at. I never needed to hear that I was a good teacher from my co-workers, parents of students or administrators - I really knew it in my heart. I was made to be a mommy and a teacher. Packing things up today reminded me of that.
On another note, Austin is saying da da and ba ba and beginning to crawl! He started those things last week, just been busy but don't want to forget to add it to this and to his baby book. Oh the infamous baby books. I did such a good job with Logans and honestly I just have a huge pile of things to go remind me of things so when I have a minute I can BEGIN Austin's book. Hopefully before he is a year old. Swimming lessons end tomorrow. What a great time Logan and I had! Now it is time for the boys and I to go to the pool daily and get into a summer time routine! SO check back in a few days for a recap from the Barney Bash!
