Couch

Ok, so people buy furniture all the time, so what's the big deal about buying a couch, right?!  Well its a huge deal to this girl.  You know the story, Brian and I were engaged for almost a year when we found out we were expecting a baby (Logan).  At that point I was still living at home, preparing for our wedding.  Once I became pregnant it seemed time to move in together rather than wait until we were married.  Well when I moved in, Brian already had a furnished apartment so I didn't need to bring much just my clothes.  From there we had wedding showers where all of our kitchen, bed, bathroom stuff came from.  We also bought some things here and there for the apartment to make it a bit more homey and a little less bachelor pad.  We didn't need furniture though since he had it all.  What we did buy together was nursery furniture and boy did we buy it!  Went with only the best for our little prince - a price tag I can't even say without feeling sick and would never spend again on nursery furniture and didn't.  We would say that the nursery furniture was the nicest most expensive furniture we owned.  SERIOUSLY.
So we moved into our house and still really just needed stuff for the walls and drapes, and rugs, and everything but furniture.  Until baby number two came along and that time we went with craigslist pottery barn furniture that wasn't even a fraction of what Logan's furniture cost.  Then baby 3 came along and we did buy the boys new furniture for their room and Addison got the expensive stuff (Logan's) ;)  Still we had never bought anything outside of kid/nursery furniture.
Rewind 12 years ago when I left home at 18, I lived in the dorms, then I lived in an apartment where the girl had all the furniture I only needed to bring my bedroom set, then I moved home, then I moved in with my husband to be and all HIS stuff.  Of course his stuff became my stuff but really never truly have I bought furniture... until two weeks ago.  It was time to get a new couch.  Brian's American Signature Furniture microfiber couch was done.  It squeaked when you sat on it and you couldn't sit in the middle without sinking in and not being able to get up.  So our couch search really started about two months ago.
We finally found what we had been looking for - a brown, leather, sectional.  The day the delivery men brought it into my house I cried.  My first piece of furniture that belonged to us both.  I love it!  The only problem now is I want ALL new furniture!  Up next, a big kitchen table to seat at least 6 (ours only seats 4).  We'll start looking after Addison arrives and hopefully by the fall have a new kitchen table for our growing family.
Our new couch:)
