30 Weeks Quickly Turned into 31 Weeks!
I can not believe how quickly time is going by right now. Working is making it difficult to blog as much as I would like. Here is a quick update on what has been going on: School started last Monday. I have a great bunch of kids in my class this year. They are all really sweet. It was a busy week trying to adjust to leaving Logan, working full time, and coming home to be mommy/wife. I was really tired by Friday. Mid week I went to the OB. I was 30 weeks and 2 days at that point. My doctor checked me and did not see any more progression - which is a great sign! As long as I am taking it easy I can work and not have to use any maternity leave time. As much as I would like to be at home with Logan, I really want all of the three months to be at home with both of my boys! I feel good, just tired. Here is my belly picture taken last weeks (30 weeks). It is hard to believe that Austin could be here in 7 weeks! I need to get going on completing his room!

First Week Back to School
Pre-planning started this week, so it has been very busy switching from full time mommy to still trying to be full time mommy and working full time also! We are so lucky to have my family close by as well as Brian's family to keep Logan while I am at work again this year. If it isn't me or Brian giving him lots of love the next best thing is our parents giving him lots of love and spoiling him. His first day with Mimi (my mom) they went to the store and bought new toys, new snacks, a cute pj outfit, and went to Ritas to see Papa, eat lunch, and of course have an ice cream treat! Brian also is with Logan one or two days each week. He is the best daddy! They just play, play, play all day. I know Logan is having a great time when he is home with his dad. It always amazes me to know how much Brian works but yet manages to work and stay home with our son.
Just as the school year begins, I startednot feeling so great. I had a normal doctor appt today (it had been 4 weeks since my last). I really wasn't going to mention not feeling so great, I didn't want to seem like a whiner - I am far from that! However, with my mom sitting there, I decided I better speak up just in case. The doctor checked me and sure enough my cervix has begun to thin out - 70% effaced! That was shocking. What was even more shocking was to hear that I was to start bed rest. Of course I had a million thoughts going through my head - the first one being tomorrow is open house and I have not written my lesson plans! I was very over whelmed. I did manage to calm down to get hooked up to monitor contractions and the baby's movement. Then I was sent on to a Perinatal Specialist where I had an ultrasound (regualr and 3D). My cervix is still very much closed and measuring 4 cm. Which is really good news. It was recommended that I take it easy and not do too much more than go to work and take care of Logan without over doing it. I go back to see my doctor Wednesday. Like I told my principal at school this afternoon, I am going to take it week to week. Things can change quickly. It is my hope to work up until I have the baby, but will do what I have to do to ensure that Austin is healthy even if that means bed rest.
My posts may slow down as the school year begins, but I will update the blog with each doctor appt. and hopefully with some pictures of Logan as he turns 15 months on the 15th! He is talking so much. Some words he says are "Papa, dog, cat, good girl, baba, bye, Mama, Dada, what's that, who is it (daddy's phone rings a lot), ball, baby, bad dog." He tries to repeat everything we say. He is most talkative first thing in the morning. Of course when I want him to say things on que he won't but when he feels like it he is a little chatter box! I do miss being with him all day. It has been harder than I had anticipated. It will be wonderful to be home with both of my boys very soon. I make sure when I am home with Logan now, that he has my full attention - no work, no cleaning, just being Logan's mommy - the most important job I will ever have.

Nurseries
Logan's room is finally complete and I love it! Austin's sailboat themed nursery is in the works; we are still on the hunt for the perfect crib! We had one and that we found on Craigslist, after a month of living with it I decided that I couldn't live with it so we sold it on Craigslist! I think this time I will purchase the crib through a store!

Logan and the belly!
Logan loves to lift up my shirt and kiss my big belly. After months of saying baby (referring to the belly) Logan said baby yesterday while patting and kissing my stomach. After he is done kissing and patting my stomach he pulls my shirt back down as to say he is done! He cracks me up.

Magnetic Letters & Barney
I had this great idea to get Logan some magnetic letters for the fridge. I thought it would occupy him when I am in the kitchen. Oh it sure does occupy him as he empties the bucket of letters and kicks them all over the kitchen. If I put some on the fridge he hits them down. Finally today I had it with the letters when I saw him stuffing more than one letters in his mouth. Not only is the magnet dangerous but he could potentially choke. So I put the container up high out of his sight! Here are some pictures with the magnetic letters.
Logan loves Barney! We watch a Barney video at least once a day. He loves the singing and dancing and does some of the motions along with Barney and the children. However to see the TV now that it is hanging on the wall he has to look up unless he is sitting with me. I feel bad for his little neck!

Mimi Rocks! My Mom takes Frist Place in Fitness Show
My mom participated in her first fitness show on Saturday. My mom is an amazing woman inside and out. A year ago she stepped up her workouts and began training leading her to participate in a local fitness show put on by SBNF. I will post the link to their website as soon as they post pictures from the event. My mom has always put everyone else first her entire life. While training she watched Logan, ran two businesses with my dad and brother, took care of her mom for a while, and still did daily things to make sure the house and her family were taken care of. I am so proud to be her daughter. She inspires me to be a better woman, wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. I knew she rocked before the show, but hearing her name be called as the first place winner in her division was such a great moment. It was late 10:30, Brian had taken Logan to the car so he could fall asleep to Barney, and I was sitting anxiously with my family. I know my mom won't forget that moment as she won her first fitness competition and neither will I. I look forward to going to more shows and always being in her cheering section - just as she has been with all of us whether it was in the football stands, soccer field, or in the delivery room as her grandchildren are being born. She has always been there to share in our joys and comfort us in our disappointments. Now we are able to do that for her. Here's to you mom! Congratulations on your accomplishment and win! WE LOVE YOU Mom/Mimi!

Big Helper
Logan loves to be apart of everything from working in the kitchen to working on the house. Grandpa Harris was coming over to help Brian hang our new flat screen in the living room. A favorite treat of his is Rice Crispy Treats. So that afternoon Logan and I made him some treats.

Licking the spoon!
After making Rice Crispy Treats, Logan was ready to be helpful with tools! He helped Daddy and Grandpa hang the T.V.
Confessions of a Mommy
Confession number 1 - I was one of those people who said that when I had a baby he/she would never sleep in my bed. Well as everyone knows, Logan has been sleeping in between Brian and I since he was born. When we brought Logan home from the hospital, I worried about everything when I would lay him in his bassinet or crib. I worried whether or not he was hot, cold, breathing, scared, lonely and then there was the cat. I worried if she would jump in the bed and suffocate him. I slept more soundly if I held my sweet baby all night in bed next to me. Then the next thing to keep him in bed with us, was that I was nursing. It was so nice to be able to feed him and to get some sleep! When Logan was almost 3 months old school started and I had to go back to work. He was sleeping though the night and it would have been a great time to have him sleep in his own bed, but (another confession) I missed him so much and felt so guilty about leaving him all day that I felt better about leaving him if he slept next to me. At six months, Brian and I decided that it was time for Logan to sleep in his crib. Here comes another confession - half way through that first night, I was so sad that I went and got him out of his crib and he has been in our bed ever since. I had a goal before going back to work in August and that was to get Logan to sleep in his crib in his room. Brian put him to bed the first night (last Thursday) I took a bath so I wouldn't hear him cry, before my bath water stopped running Logan was asleep (Way to Go Daddy!). He slept until the next morning. It was a huge success. The second night, Brian put him to bed again and within minutes Logan was asleep. Saturday night was my turn. I took him into his room and patted his back and he was asleep quickly. We did it! Logan now sleeps in his own bed. We are very proud of this step in parenting. We say we will do it differently this time. Austin will never sleep in our bed...

Fourth of July Weekend 2008
We had a great fourth. We kicked off the weekend by celebrating Brian's birthday with my family at our house on Thursday night. We had one of Brian's favorites - BBQ sandwiches! Followed by a very yummy carrot cake. We walked over to EE Robinson Park to see some great fireworks. Logan was exhausted from playing with is Mimi, Papa, Uncles, and Aunt that he was barely able to keep his eyes opened to see the fireworks! We actually left in the middle of the show to walk home and realized that we could see the fireworks from our driveway! It was an hour long display - very cool! It was a great way to kick off Brian's birthday. On Friday the fourth, we got up, Brian worked in the yard, we showered and went to the mall to exchange some of his bday gifts. Then we had Brian's family over and cooked out on the new grill. We ate more cake and he opened more gifts! On Saturday, Logan and I woke up early and headed up to the lake house that my parents had rented for the weekend. We ate lots of yummy food, got in the hot tub (that was actually cool without any jets going when Logan was in), went on the boat, and relaxed with family and friends. We came home Sunday morning and got into our pj's. We took naps with Daddy, played, watched a movie, and ate dinner before going to bed early! We hope you had a great birthday Brian/Dada - WE LOVE YOU! Meaghan, Logan, and Austin
25 Weeks Pregnant!
Today was my glucose test and 25 week doctor appt. Austin's heartbeat was in the 140's which is great. I measured at exactly 25 weeks. I passed my glucose test - that was the best news! My sugar level was 113 and it had to be below 135 to pass! However, I did not pass the hemoglobin test. I am anemic with this pregnancy as I was with Logan. So my doctor started me on some iron pills. It was an over all good appt. I go back in 4 weeks (just as preplanning is beginning). I will be 29 weeks then. This pregnancy is going by so quickly. We are excited to meet Austin in October! I get a weekly update on my pregnancy through babycenter.com. I thought it would be fun to start posting some of the information on our blog!
Your pregnancy: 25 weeks
How your baby's growing Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
